This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist performs diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations under the general supervision of a Radiologist, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely imaging services for Veteran patients. All services are performed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement, Veterans Health Administration directives, Joint Commission standards, and applicable federal laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and Department of Veterans Affairs standards of care.
  • Prepare and set up Magnetic Resonance Imaging rooms, ensuring required equipment, supplies, and materials are available, operational, and properly maintained.
  • Screen, identify, and verify patients using approved Department of Veterans Affairs patient‑identification procedures prior to imaging examinations.
  • Explain Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures to patients, secure patient cooperation, and provide care that ensures patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
  • Adhere strictly to Veterans Health Administration Magnetic Resonance Imaging safety requirements, including magnetic field safety, infection control practices, and patient screening protocols.
  • Position patients appropriately and select imaging protocols and technical parameters to ensure optimal diagnostic image quality.
  • Review Magnetic Resonance Imaging images for completeness, diagnostic quality, correct labeling, and proper annotation prior to submission for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Accurately document procedures, imaging data, and relevant clinical information in the Department of Veterans Affairs Electronic Health Record system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Privacy Act, and Department of Veterans Affairs policies.
  • Complete all required Department of Veterans Affairs mandatory training, quality assurance activities, and performance improvement documentation.
  • Promptly report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, patient incidents, or adverse events to supervisory staff and complete required Department of Veterans Affairs reporting within mandated timelines.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client‑specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications Basic Requirements / Certifications
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required.
  • State licensure or certification issued by the California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch must be current and in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations in a hospital or clinical environment.
  • Ability to work under the general supervision of a Radiologist and manage complex imaging examinations involving patients with acute illness, injury, or physical limitations.
  • Proficiency in Magnetic Resonance Imaging patient positioning, protocol selection, image evaluation, and clinical documentation.
Education Required
  • Completion of a full‑time diagnostic radiologic technology training program of at least twenty‑four (24) months in duration, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology or another accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
