Overview

Organization: SPMF-Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation - South

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform both routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures with precision and care, producing high-quality diagnostic images that support physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of various conditions. You will work independently, applying sound clinical judgment and advanced technical skills to ensure safe, accurate, and timely imaging.

Your ability to assess patients, communicate effectively, and foster trust with patients, families, and care teams will be key to delivering exceptional care. This position requires strict adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies, to maintain patient privacy and safety. You may also be responsible for performing advanced procedures and supporting the orientation of new staff within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures with precision and care to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Work independently with sound clinical judgment and advanced technical skills to ensure safe, accurate, and timely imaging.
  • Assess patients, communicate effectively, and foster trust with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and organizational policies to maintain patient privacy and safety.
  • Perform advanced procedures as needed and support orientation of new staff within the department.
Qualifications
  • Education: Other:
    Successful completion of an educational program in Nuclear Medicine accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) OR successful completion of an educational program in Radiography accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification & Licensure:
    • RHN - Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine (Department of Public Health) (required if working in California)
    • NMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
    • OR ARRT(N) - Nuclear Medicine Technology (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Typical

    Experience:

    5 years of recent relevant experience
  • Skills and Knowledge: General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies; ability to perform routine nuclear medicine examinations with understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology; strong written and verbal communication; time management and organizational skills; familiarity with computer applications and health information systems (RIS/LIS/EHR/EPIC/PACS); ability to work independently and as part of a team;

    ability to protect patient PHI; ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers.

Pay Range: $76.76 to $95.95 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
