Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer)

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting for Ultrasound (US) Technologists to support the San Francisco VA Medical Center located at 4150 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121. Ultrasound Technologists shall have in‑depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential. They will collect and communicate all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist, explain exams and proper patient preparation requirements, and work closely with other department technologists while continuing quality‑improvement activities daily.

Available shift schedules include days, evenings, and nights, and any assigned schedule may be changed at the direction of Ansible or its customers. Exceptional compensation and benefits packages are available to qualified candidates.

• Maintains in‑depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential
• Collects and communicates all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist
• Explains exams to patients and outlines proper patient preparation requirements
• Works closely with other department technologists and continues quality‑improvement activities on a daily basis
• Sets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available
• Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists; monitors vital signs and reports any significant changes to a radiologist
• Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed
• Performs related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and editing case requests and reports
• Maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package

• English language proficiency
• Registered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality in a Level 1 hospital setting, able to work with minimal or no supervision
• Note – Student internship and training time spent in a radiology setting does not count toward the two (2) years of experience
• Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS); experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not required
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• No sponsorship available

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
• Lift up to 20 lbs
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
