Radiologic Technologist Lead (2472) – Department of Public Health
We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist Lead to manage a shift or an assigned area of diagnostic imaging. The lead will supervise, train, and coordinate diagnostic imaging technologists and support staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with radiation safety standards.
Responsibilities- Act as the lead worker for an assigned area or shift; manage workload, prioritize work, and assign tasks to technologists and support staff.
- Prepare and monitor work schedules, perform time reporting, and inventory supplies.
- Preceptor new staff and staff learning new skills or equipment; provide training, orientation, and document competencies.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using fixed or portable equipment, advanced modalities, and manage image acquisition.
- Apply radiation safety principles, use protective devices, and manage radiation monitoring.
- Assess patient condition, provide venipuncture and CPR, and assist with contrast media for physicians.
- Document procedures and events in patient records and departmental logs; maintain data integrity.
- Transport patients using gurneys and wheelchairs.
- Schedule procedures, transfer orders, produce and collate images and paperwork, and coordinate patient flow.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and quality control procedures.
- Clean imaging equipment and liaise with field service for repairs.
- Assist physicians and providers in resolving imaging questions or issues.
- Four (4) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (Mammography, CT, MRI, Quality Management, Bone Density, Cardiac-Interventional, or Vascular-Interventional).
- Valid permit for Fluoroscopy equipment issued by the California Department of Health Services.
- Valid CPR certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
Two (2) years of additional experience as a Radiologic Technologist may substitute for the required advanced modality certification.
