The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the UCSF Medical Center and its providers and payors. These services include drug procurement, storage and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients;
and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs.
Under Pharmaceutical Services, the Pharmacy Technician II/PD provides pharmaceutical care to patients at Moffitt, Long, and Mount Zion and specialized services to researchers on campus. All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the supervising or operating pharmacist who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by Pharmaceutical Services. The Pharmacy Technician II performs all activities related to medication preparation, medication distribution, and inventory management.
The salary range for this position is $36.05 - $44.91 (Hourly Rate). Salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy and your work experience and internal equity.

Required Qualifications- Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
- Minimum of two (2) years as Pharmacy Technician in hospitals or health care, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Completion of a recognized or accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands‑on training period during externship), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pharmacy Technician certification CPhT
- Active Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
- Pharmacy Technician certification CPhT (Preferred)
