Full‑time opportunities in the Bay Area:
San Francisco and Alameda County. AMR is the official EMS partner for Oracle Park and Chase Center, covering events for the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors.
The Critical Care Transport Paramedic administers basic, advanced, and critical patient care during transport. Under the direction of AMR and CCT leadership teams, the candidate provides exemplary clinical service, uses advanced critical thinking skills, and leads the safe transfer of critically ill or injured patients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform all 9‑1‑1 paramedic duties.
- Utilize medical equipment: defibrillator, EKG monitor, ventilators, IV pumps, hemodynamic sensors, airway adjuncts/procedures, oxygen, suction devices, intravenous fluids and medications.
- Interpret common laboratory reports and manage complex pharmacologic infusions.
- Deliver interventions in line with Paramedic CCT level certification and local policies.
- Assist in safely moving patients and ensuring optimal care.
- Communicate with receiving facilities for medical direction and with dispatch for call data.
- Maintain ambulance cleanliness per risk and safety guidelines.
- Accurately document patient assessments and care via the company platform for billing.
- Follow out‑of‑chute and turnaround time policies.
- Work beyond scheduled shifts with minimal notice.
- Read medication prescriptions accurately and rapidly.
- Identify changes in patient appearance and respond appropriately.
- Negotiate secondary services (e.g., return transport) with patients/caregivers.
- Maintain relationships with nursing, assisted‑living, and hospital staff; report interactions to management.
- Participate in community programs to strengthen AMR’s public image.
- Minimum 18 years old; high school diploma or GED.
- Unencumbered California paramedic license.
- California ambulance driver’s license.
- Medical examiner’s card.
- 3–5 years of ALS field experience.
- Current CCP‑C certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe; CCEMT‑P holders must obtain CCP‑C per CA guidelines.
- Completion of a CA‑approved CCP course.
- Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP, and PHTLS certificates (or timely attainment).
- Pass a physical agility test (PAT).
- Other certifications or training required by local agencies.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write reports.
