Position Description
OverviewAssociate Specialist (Dr. Roselle Abraham’s Team). The lab studies the mechanisms underlying metabolic remodeling and cardiac fibrosis in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) using mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cells.
Responsibilities- Proficient in mouse colony management, culture and cardiac differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
- Production of lentivirus/adenovirus/adeno-associated virus, cell transduction, cell line generation, and live cell imaging.
- Conduct histology, microscopy, biochemical assays in cells, isolated mitochondria and tissue homogenates, PCR and qPCR, and data analysis.
- Perform cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in mouse models.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, monitor freezers, uphold laboratory SOPs, ensure bio/environmental safety compliance, and manage supply ordering.
- Required: Must have at least a master’s degree (or equivalent) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- Desired: Passionate about learning new skills, works well independently or in a team, takes initiative, and has a strong interest in the cardiovascular system.
- Additional: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively present scientific results to other scientists.

Salary:
See Table 24B for the salary range. A reasonable estimate for this position is $75,600–$88,000.
