Jungle Red is looking for an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented, licensed cosmetologist to join the team as our Salon Assistant. This position is ideal for an individual who is recently licensed and wants to expand their training and work experience as a part of a tight-knit salon environment. The Salon Assistant will have the opportunity to gain training from our Senior Stylists through our Apprentice Program, build invaluable, high-quality relationships with our client base, and become a part of our salon culture.

Job duties include but are not limited to: using attentiveness and taking initiative in assisting our five stylists as needed (shampoos, blowdrys, prepping clients for color, color mixing, ordering/picking up lunches on busy days, receiving and stocking color orders, etc.), keeping the salon neat and clean throughout the day (sweeping, washing dishes, prepping/cleaning color trays, wiping counters, etc.), running errands, maintaining a high level of attentiveness to clients to help them feel comfortable throughout their salon experience.

This position also includes providing occasional receptionist support for the front desk staff when they take breaks or run errands for the salon.

• Valid California Cosmetology License
• Drive to grow as a professional hairstylist through a challenging Apprenticeship Program
• Desire and willingness to learn and accept feedback from our internationally-trained, Senior Stylists
• Attentive, Detail-oriented, Proactive, and Organized Team Worker
• Excellent Customer Service and Phone Skills
• Knowledge and experience with Goldwell’s color line, Bumble&bumble, Davines and Goldwell’s Kerasilk product lines helpful, but not required
• Customer Service/Receptionist/Service Industry work experience preferred, but not required
