Description

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Advanced Projects Coordinator (Climate Solutions Program).

This is an open recruitment for one (1) full‑time, represented position.

About the Position

The Planning and Climate Protection Team provides strategic direction to the Air District’s climate protection efforts and assists in coordinating the implementation planning of the Air District’s Zero‑NOx Appliance Rules for space and water heaters. The role also includes active collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to advance, accelerate, and support clean building policies, programs and projects across the region.

Success requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement skills, technical and policy expertise, and strategic thinking and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the staff lead for the Implementation Working Group and develop and manage the overall workplan, timelines, and ensure high‑quality completion of deliverables.
  • Plan, conduct, and follow up on Working Group meetings, prepare agendas, meeting materials, and communicate with members.
  • Coordinate consultant research projects, including scope, contracting, reviewing drafts, and कोविड सक्षम पहुँच; सुनिश्चित करें कि निष्कर्ष सुलभ रूप से संप्रेषित हों।

Strong team player, proactive self‑starter, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to build relationships and trust between the District, community partners and agencies, and effective problem‑solving skills that pay attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Definition

Under direction, provides a variety of technical and administrative support to the District; conducts specialized studies and projects; serves as the District’s liaison with other agencies; performs related work as assigned.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This specialized class performs complex technical and administrative work in many areas for the District. Assignments are project‑oriented and require significant independent action and judgment. Incumbents may represent the District in strategic situations and speak with the authority of the District when so assigned. Supervision of others may or may not be assigned to this classification. This class is distinguished from Senior Advanced Projects Advisor in that the latter has managerialબંધ responsibilities.

the Planning and Climate Division

The Planning and Climate Protection Division prepares plans to meet state and federal air quality standards and assists local communities, cities, counties and regional agencies in improving air quality and advancing climate protection efforts. Division staff work on the Air District’s Community Health Protection Program implementing Assembly Bill 617; partner with impacted and overburdened communities and their local governments to reduce local air pollution, climate impacts and improve health outcomes;

and work collaboratively to integrate air quality, health and climate protection into local and regional air quality plans, projects and programs.
