Key Responsibilities and Duties Financial Reporting & Close
- Own the full monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analyses
- Partner with department leaders to review results and key business drivers
- Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and all accounting policies
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 across self‑serve and enterprise motions, including usage‑based billing, plan migrations, and hybrid pricing
- Partner with FP&A and Revenue Operations to reconcile financial data to operating metrics including ARR, NRR, and cohort retention
- Partner with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Provide financial insights to support pricing decisions and strategic initiatives
- Support board reporting, investor updates, and diligence requests
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Manage multi‑entity and multi‑currency accounting, including intercompany transactions and transfer pricing
- Lead the transition from Quick Books to a more sophisticated ERP (e.g., Rillet, Campfire)
- Establish, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures
- Build scalable processes to support rapid growth in headcount and transaction volume
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and coordinate federal, state, and international tax compliance
- Oversee sales tax and VAT obligations across jurisdictions and coordinate R&D tax credit studies
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls appropriate for a fast‑growing international company
- Drive the company's first Big 4 audit to successful completion
- Recruit, manage, and develop the accounting team with a focus on mentorship and high performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration
- CPA required, BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years owning or co‑owning the full accounting function
- Public accounting experience, Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred
- Direct experience with SaaS or subscription revenue models and ASC 606 compliance
- Experience managing external audit relationships, ideally including a company's first institutional audit
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including multi‑entity and international accounting
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team while also being a hands‑on contributor
- Proven ability to partner with and influence cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels
