Senior Associate, Internal Audit and Control
Location:
San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
As the Senior Associate, Internal Audit and Control, you’ll strengthen the organization’s control environment through governance and remediation activities. Your work protects Sephora’s brand, ensures the integrity of financial and operational activities, and supports a culture of risk assessment and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do- Own Ongoing Monitoring Controls:
Implement and manage all ongoing monitoring controls, including sensitive retail and website transactions, cash reconciliations, and related analytics. Continuously improve control design, automation, and governance to protect Sephora’s brand, bottom line, and regulatory compliance. - Lead Segregation of Duties (SOD) Governance:
Conduct reviews of critical systems, establish robust SOD governance, and partner with cross‑functional teams to drive process transformation and strengthen controls. - Drive Audit Follow‑Up and Tracking:
Own follow‑up, tracking, and reporting of audit and investigation action plans, including findings from risk assessments, operational audits, store audits, distribution center audits, investigations, and LVMH audits. - Execute Data‑Driven Special Projects:
Lead special projects and ad‑hoc audits using data analytics and automation tools to identify risks, improve governance processes, and enhance efficiency. - Perform Comprehensive Audit Testing:
Conduct audit and controls testing, including documentation, review, issue identification, and coordination with business partners. Perform store audits and annual remote audit procedures. - Support Global Compliance Efforts:
Assist with LVMH and Sephora Global internal audits or reviews and follow up to ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
- Proven Audit
Experience:
3+ years of internal or external audit, risk advisory, finance, or controlling experience, preferably in retail or consumer packaged goods. - Strong Technical Foundation:
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s in accounting/finance preferred), with expertise in accounting, auditing, internal controls, and financial principles. Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA/CA, CISA, or CFE are preferred. - Advanced Analytical
Skills:
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving abilities, using data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Tableau, SQL) to identify trends and risks, remediate audit findings, and drive process improvements. - Excellent Communication Abilities:
Outstanding communication skills to clearly convey complex concepts and deliver impactful presentations to stakeholders at all levels. - Results‑Driven Mindset:
Intellectually curious, adaptable, and proactive with a solution‑oriented approach. Able to thrive in dynamic environments while managing competing priorities through effective project and time management. - Collaborative Leadership:

The annual base salary range for this position is $ – $. Base pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, business factors, and geographic location. Individuals in this role may also be eligible for bonuses. This position will be posted for a minimum of five days.
