Trading Operations Analyst | Crypto Proprietary Trading Firm | San Francisco (In-Person)
Blue Coast Capital Partners is hiring on behalf of one of our clients — a proprietary trading firm building systematic quantitative strategies in crypto. Since 2018, they've been a consistent liquidity provider across major venues, trading at scale (~$1B in daily notional volume) across market‑making, HFT, and statistical arbitrage. They're a lean team of engineers, researchers, and traders with 100+ years of collective quant finance experience.
The RoleOur client is hiring a Trading Operations Analyst to join their team. You'll help scale strategies to new markets, build tools to progressively automate trading management, and respond to changing market dynamics. This role primarily covers Asian hours and requires a high degree of autonomy. In‑person attendance at their SF office is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do- Monitor automated trading processes — positions, exposure, P&L — and investigate issues as they arise.
- Manage collateral and capital across exchanges.
- Troubleshoot system issues, read trading logs, triage errors, and implement hotfixes.
- Write, modify, and debug code supporting the trading systems.
- Reconcile accounting data and P&L from multiple sources.
- Execute operational tasks (account openings, API keys, non‑automated trades).
- Identify process improvements and build automations.
- Serve as primary contact with exchanges and optimize market maker program participation.
- Strong experience in Python — the entire trading infrastructure is written in Python, and you'll be reading, writing, and debugging Python code daily.
- Deep interest in crypto exchange mechanics (slippage, fees, funding rates, spreads).
- Strong problem‑solving ability in complex systems.
- Analytical skills to evaluate quantitative tradeoffs in real time.
- Exceptional organization and follow‑through.
- Strong communication across developers, quants, and external parties.
- Able to understand trace backs, write scripts to interact with exchange APIs, and critically evaluate AI‑generated suggestions.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment with irregular hours.
$150,000 – $200,000+ total comp. Fully paid medical and dental for employees and dependents. Competitive 401k match, wellness benefits, and meals at work.
