Montcalm TCR LLC is seeking a Senior Investment Associate to join its dynamic and growing team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will play a central role in sourcing, evaluating, and developing investment opportunities across various asset classes. There is a particular emphasis on private markets and impact-aligned strategies. The role requires leading the expansion of Montcalm’s service offerings with new allocation models and products.
This hybrid role incorporates a diverse range of responsibilities including due diligence, product development, and research. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses of investments, overseeing due diligence processes, and contributing to the innovative development of Montcalm’s investment structures. Collaboration with a range of partners and ongoing research will be critical to the role.
- Lead and support due diligence on alternative investments including private credit, private equity, venture, and real assets.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of managers, fund structures, performance, and risk factors.
- Support the full due diligence lifecycle including sourcing, screening, modeling, and reporting.
- Maintain relationships with fund managers, co-investors, and ecosystem partners.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to build and refine Montcalm’s new Resonance Allocation product.
- Help design new investment structures and offerings.
- Contribute to research on emerging opportunities in values-aligned and next-economy investing.
- Assist with thematic research on markets, economic conditions, and impact-aligned trends.
- Prepare materials for the Investment Committee and clients.
- Participate in portfolio monitoring and risk assessment.
- 3–6 years of experience in investment research, due diligence, private markets, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating private market strategies or alternative investments.
- Strong analytical skills and financial modeling proficiency.
- Experience preparing due diligence materials and investment memos.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complexity into clarity.
- Ability to maintain professional, values-aligned relationships with clients and partners.
- Curiosity, humility, and a strong interest in finance and human well-being.
- Comfort working in a nimble, evolving, entrepreneurial environment.
- MBA or CFA is a plus but not required.
- Base salary of $90k–$130k, depending on experience, plus a performance-based bonus.
