Overview
Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We’re reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
The RoleWe are hiring a FP&A Lead to build and own the financial planning, forecasting, and performance intelligence that powers day-to-day and long-term decision-making across Mariana. This is a hands-on, builder role
. You will work directly with business and asset leaders to track spend, analyze performance versus plan, explain variances, and help teams course-correct in real time. A key part of this role is helping design and build systems—within Mariana
OS and related data pipelines—that deliver near–real-time financial insight rather than relying solely on month-end closes.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves: building models in Excel, working with APIs and data tools, visiting assets, and solving messy problems firsthand.
What You’ll Do- Own company-wide FP&A across assets and the parent company
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial models
- Track purchase order commitments and actual spend vs. budget
- Analyze and explain variances with business and budget owners
- Partner with leaders to plan corrective actions and optimize spend
- Develop dashboards and tools that provide near–real-time financial visibility
- Work closely with Accounting to reconcile operational data with financials
- Support long-term planning and capital-raising efforts with clear financial insight
- Translate complex financial data into actionable business intelligence
- 5-10 years of experience in FP&A, finance, investment banking, consulting, or a closely related role
- Strong hands-on modeling skills (Excel required)
- Experience working directly with operators or asset-level leaders
- Background in natural resources, energy, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive businesses preferred
- Comfort building scrappy tools (models, lightweight apps, data pipelines) to solve problems
- Ability to operate independently without a large team or support structure
- Strong business judgment and communication skills
- Willingness to be in the office most days and visit assets as needed to work with day-to-day teams
