Tax Manager; SALT

A leading CPA firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its State & Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong multistate experience who enjoys complex technical work, client advisory, and developing high-performing teams.

• Lead and manage SALT engagements, including state income/franchise, sales & use, gross receipts, and other state and local taxes
• Provide multistate planning and consulting on nexus, apportionment, credits & incentives, voluntary disclosure, and audit defense
• Review complex returns and technical memos; ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries
• Mentor and develop seniors and staff; contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing
• Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes and apply guidance to client matters

• CPA required (JD or EA considered)
• 5+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on SALT
• 2+ years of people management or engagement leadership experience
• Proven technical expertise in multistate tax issues (income/franchise, sales & use, nexus)
• Strong communication, project management, and client service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
