Ember Search has been retained on a VP of Finance search with a Series A, AI-enabled health tech startup in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This company is tackling one of the largest and most underserved categories in healthcare: migraine and headache care. Today, millions of patients struggle to access consistent specialty treatment and end up cycling through fragmented care. This team is building a virtual-first model designed to deliver faster, more reliable outcomes through a combination of technology, clinical rigor, and a superior patient experience.

The company has recently raised a $12.5M institutional round and is entering a pivotal phase of scale, expanding across states and broadening clinical service lines. They are showing rare early signals of durability for a healthcare business at this stage, including strong patient outcomes and retention.

This is a first-in finance leadership role with a clear path to CFO. You will partner directly with the CEO/founder and work closely with the board and investors to shape how the company scales, how capital is deployed, and how internal finance and revenue cycle capabilities are built.

What you’ll do

• Own financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and board-level reporting
• Partner with leadership on capital allocation and scaling decisions
• Evaluate outsourced finance and revenue cycle partners and determine what to bring in-house
• Stand up internal finance and revenue cycle capabilities as the business grows
• Help prepare the company for its next phase of fundraising and multi-state expansion
