Position: Compliance & Operations Manager (Fintech)

Plannery is transforming personal finance for 18M U.S. healthcare professionals by automating debt repayment, expense management, and wealth-building. Our leadership team brings deep expertise in scaling startups: our CEO started his career at Capital One and has led ventures acquired by Allstate, SoFi and Fed Ex. Backed by investors like Ross Fubini (early Palantir investor) and Lee Hower (Linked In co-founder), Plannery is gaining rapid traction with top health systems, associations, and corporations.

At Plannery, we track the unique financial journey of healthcare professionals who often face significant student and personal debt, despite their high incomes. Our mission is to help them manage debt, reduce expenses, and build wealth. Through partnerships with hospitals, we’re saving employees over $8,000 annually. We’ve seen remarkable growth across every line of business, from product adoption to strategic partnerships.

With support from Fin Wise Bank and a growing list of healthcare institutions relying on our services, this is a pivotal time to join our mission of redefining financial wellness for healthcare professionals.

We are growing at a rapid pace, and we’re just getting started. We expect to continue on a steep growth trajectory through the rest of the year and into 2027, especially as we introduce AI products to help healthcare professionals with their finances.

The Role

As Compliance & Operations Manager, you will own Plannery’s day-to-day compliance operations and serve as the primary operational interface with our partner bank, while also supporting compliance-adjacent operational workflows across the business.

You will help enhance and steer our compliance management system (CMS), manage ongoing compliance requests and audits, and work closely with our external compliance advisors and bank partner to ensure we scale responsibly. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys operating in regulated environments and building durable processes from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Operations & Partner Bank Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for our partner bank, managing ongoing compliance requests, reviews, testing, reporting, and follow-ups.
  • Own compliance execution across Plannery’s products, including the payroll-linked personal loan product, deposit product, AI financial platform, and future products as we expand our financial wellness offering.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly compliance reporting, annual audits, and ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Track, manage, and close compliance-related action items and remediation efforts.
Compliance Program & Policy Development
  • Draft, maintain, and revise compliance policies and procedures to support scalable growth.
  • Help build and operate Plannery’s CMS, including documentation, monitoring routines, and audit readiness.
  • Work closely with external compliance advisors to inform regulatory posture, escalate complex issues, and evolve our compliance strategy over time.
  • Embed a culture of compliance across product, operations, and customer-facing teams.
Operational Support
  • Partner with operations teams on compliance-adjacent workflows, including payment troubleshooting, reconciliations, issue resolution, and process improvement.
  • Support cross-functional problem-solving in fast-moving, ambiguous situations where compliance and operations intersect.
  • Work with data and operations tools to validate information and support compliance and operational needs.
What We’re Looking For Experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk, or related roles within a regulated bank, credit union, or fintech environment, ideally in fast-growth settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. consumer financial regulations, including TILA, TISA, EFTA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, GLBA, TCPA, and FDCPA, as applicable to lending and consumer financial products.
  • Experience supporting consumer financial products such as loans, credit cards, or payroll-linked services.
  • Prior experience working with or supporting a partner bank–fintech partnership is strongly preferred.
