Chief of Staff

Camino Search is supporting a privately held investment platform in a confidential search for a Chief of Staff to support senior leadership across core operational and financial workflows.

The role is central to the day-to-day functioning of the platform and is best suited for a highly disciplined operator with strong judgment, discretion, and a bias toward execution. It is not an advisory or strategy-oriented position. The mandate is hands‑on ownership of fund operations, investor activity, and financial processes in a lean, institutional environment.

The Chief of Staff will operate at the center of the platform, ensuring accuracy, control, and consistency across documentation, cash movements, reporting, and external communications. The role offers direct exposure to daily P&L, performance attribution, and reporting processes, with close interaction across fund administrators, prime brokers, banking partners, and other external service providers.

• Own day-to-day fund and SPV operations, including documentation management, bill pay, expense allocation, and reconciliations
• Manage investor subscriptions and redemptions end-to-end, coordinating capital movements across bank and prime broker accounts
• Serve as the primary internal point of contact for fund administrators and external service providers
• Oversee cash management, wire activity, fee payments, and reimbursements with appropriate internal controls
• Process and distribute daily P&L and performance attribution data from prime broker platforms
• Coordinate month-end and ongoing reporting processes in partnership with external providers

• Direct, hands‑on experience in fund operations, fund administration, or operational finance within an investment firm, hedge fund, or asset manager
• Strong working knowledge of fund and SPV structures, investor capital flows, expense allocation, and fee mechanics
• Comfortable owning operational processes end-to-end in a lean, high-accountability environment
• Exceptionally detail‑oriented, process-driven, and execution-focused
• Trusted, discreet, and sound in judgment when handling sensitive firm and investor information
• Hedge fund operating experience, including exposure to daily P&L and prime broker platforms, is strongly preferred

Hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation of four days per week in the office.
