Our client is a 25-bed Critical Access not-for-profit hospital centrally located in California. Minutes to wine country and over 300 wineries!

They have engaged us to locate an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls in a complex, regulated environment. This role is ideal for a finance professional who wants ownership, leadership visibility, and the ability to directly influence organizational performance.

• Oversight of accounting operations, reporting accuracy, and compliance in a mission‑critical environment.

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and financial visibility.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• Healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing close processes and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to partner effectively with non‑finance leaders.
