VP of Finance & RCM - Healthcare Start Up

Haven is building the future of migraine care for the 40 million Americans who suffer from this debilitating neurological condition. Backed by Runa Capital, Precursor Ventures, and 1843 Capital, we’re transforming how migraine is treated through an innovative combination of telemedicine, AI‑enabled monitoring, and personalized care plans. Our early results are exceptional – our initial patient cohort is seeing a 70% improvement rate with days impacted by headache reduced by half.

The

Opportunity

As an early member of the executive team you’ll have an outsized impact on both the future of the company. You’ll work directly with the CEO and the founding team – including our Stanford‑trained Chief Medical Officer and experienced founders from Collective Health – to build technology that meaningfully improves people’s lives. We’re tackling a $112B market opportunity where only 8% of patients currently receive adequate care.

You’ll receive competitive cash compensation and meaningful equity in a fast‑growing venture‑backed company. You’ll work in a hybrid setup based in downtown San Francisco while helping build the finance foundation of a category‑defining company.

If you’re energized not just by the numbers but by the levers that help a business grow, scale care to more people, and improve real outcomes, this role is for you. You’ve worked in fast‑growth organizations and bring a strong healthcare background with insurance and RCM exposure. You’re a hands‑on operator who can build models, own the general ledger, and clearly communicate the story behind the numbers.

What

You’ll Help Us With

Your primary focus will be building Haven’s finance function from the ground up. You will craft systems that deliver trusted numbers, drive decisions, and scale operations. Finance at Haven is not just about reporting. It’s about enabling the organization to grow with clarity and confidence.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Own forecasting, budgeting, spend visibility, variance analysis, and KPI standards so leadership trusts the numbers and runway.
  • Lead accounting, general ledger, monthly close, external partners, controls, and audit readiness as the company scales.
  • Own revenue cycle performance with full visibility into claims, denials, AR aging, collections, vendor SLAs, and escalation paths.
  • Build payer‑level and service‑line profitability views to support new state launches, contracting, and pricing decisions.
  • Drive margin through unit economics modeling, identifying improvement opportunities, and running initiatives to outcome.
  • Partner with functional leaders on financial tradeoffs while hiring and building a high‑performing finance team and operating rhythm.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience building finance at a venture‑backed startup.
  • Strong healthcare background with insurance and RCM exposure.
  • Hands‑on operator who can build models and own the GL.
  • Experience scaling from Seed through Series B or similar stage.
  • Comfortable owning audits, controls, and investor reporting.
  • Clear communicator who can tell the story behind the numbers.

You’re likely a strong fit if you’ve helped scale a multi‑state clinic or provider organization and bring deep hands‑on experience with revenue cycle or reimbursement. You understand how working capital moves through a healthcare business and have structured or managed credit facilities to support growth. You’ve also supported M&A or clinic acquisitions, from diligence through integration, and know how to translate those efforts into operational and financial impact.
