Hybrid Fund Accountant – Venture Capital & Exposure

Fund Accountant

Our client, a leading real estate investment firm, is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its accounting team.

Location:
San Francisco, CA. This role is hybrid with in-office expectations 3 days per week.

Job Description:
This role supports monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, investor reporting, and audit/tax preparation for multiple investment vehicles. The position offers exposure to fund accounting, financial statement preparation, and collaboration with senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly consolidation and reconciliation of investment accounts for funds, joint ventures, and separate accounts.
• Record month-end journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and investor reporting packages in accordance with GAAP.
• Support annual audit and tax processes, including preparation of financial packages.
• Collaborate with internal teams on ad hoc projects, acquisitions, and dispositions.
• Maintain partner capital accounts and assist with REIT compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in real estate, private equity, or financial services preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with MRI and Juniper Square is a plus.
• Strong understanding of partnership/fund accounting concepts.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
