Senior Tax Associate – Alternative Investment Funds
Join Andersen Consulting as a Senior Tax Associate – Alternative Investment Funds. This role focuses on tax planning, consulting, and compliance for hedge funds, private equity, real estate, fund of funds, and venture capital.
RoleSenior Associates work directly with Management to plan, consult, and comply with complex tax matters for national and foreign entities.
Responsibilities- Review and prepare tax returns.
- Continue to build technical knowledge of tax planning, consulting, and compliance for national and foreign entities through formal and on‑the‑job training.
- Consistently work with management to identify and research complex client issues.
- Provide regular updates to clients.
- Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements.
- Supervise and participate in the professional development of Associates and Interns.
- Receive formal tax training related to Alternative Investment Funds, on‑the‑job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.
- 2+ years of relevant tax experience.
- Bachelor’s and/or relevant advanced degree (MAcc, MST, JD). Preferred:
Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree. - Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Advanced credential or desire to obtain advanced credential allowing for IRS client representation (e.g. CPA, JD).
- Self‑starter with initiative to seek opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Proficient use of technology.
Competitive base salary with a salary range of $86,500 to $148,300 for individuals hired in San Francisco. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401(k) plan, 160 hours of paid time off, and 12 paid holidays. Full benefit details available on the Andersen careers website.
