Boden Talent is proud to partner with a global innovation-driven organization in the search for a Global Engineering Director to lead enterprise-wide engineering strategy, infrastructure, and technical operations across a complex, high-performance portfolio.

This is a highly visible leadership role for a strategic, technically credible executive who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, capital delivery, operational reliability, and scale. You will own the global engineering function that enables next-generation R&D, product development, and advanced operations.

The Role

As Global Engineering Director, you will set the vision and execution strategy for engineering, facilities infrastructure, and technical services across global sites. Your remit spans capital programs, mission-critical systems, compliance, reliability, and user experience, with a strong emphasis on future-proofing environments that support innovation at scale.

Key Responsibilities Global Engineering Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and lead the global engineering and infrastructure strategy aligned to long-term business growth.
  • Build, mentor, and lead senior engineering leaders across regions and disciplines.
  • Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and risk management strategies across all engineering functions.
  • Serve as a trusted executive partner to R&D, operations, workplace, EHS, and real estate leadership.
Capital Projects, Design & Delivery
  • Oversee large-scale capital programs including new builds, expansions, and complex retrofits.
  • Drive best-in-class engineering design standards focused on flexibility, compliance, and lifecycle value.
  • Own global capital planning, budgets, schedules, and delivery performance.
  • Lead external partners, consultants, and contractors at an enterprise level.
Engineering Operations & Infrastructure
  • Ensure reliability and performance of critical systems including HVAC, MEP, clean power, gases, utilities, and specialized environments.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and resilience.
  • Standardize engineering operations and asset management across regions.
Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) & Operational Readiness
  • Lead engineering oversight of MAC activities, equipment relocations, and space reconfigurations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to minimize disruption while enabling rapid change.
  • Develop scalable playbooks, standards, and workflows for global execution.
Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure engineering compliance with EH&S, HSSE, and regulatory requirements globally.
  • Champion safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement culture.
  • Leverage data, CMMS, and smart building platforms to drive insight-led decision making.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in engineering, facilities, or infrastructure roles within tech, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or semiconductor environments.
  • Deep expertise in mission-critical and highly technical building systems.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex capital programs across multiple regions.
  • Strong financial acumen with ownership of multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence at the C-suite and board level.
Preferred Background
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Experience scaling engineering organizations in fast-growth environments
  • Systems thinker with strong execution discipline and stakeholder management skills
