Job Title:
Construction Engineer (Site Surveys, Coax/Ethernet in MDU/Multi-Tenant)
Duration: Up to 30 months (including extensions)

Job DescriptionIn the office/field 3-4 days a week, and remote 1-2 days per week.
Targeted Years of
Experience:
5‑7 years.
- Design and install the equipment used in transmitting broadband data over in‑building networks.
- Work with coax, twisted pair copper, or fiber optic cabling and complex networks as well as switching equipment.
- Coordinate installation of new in‑building networks or equipment.
- Evaluate multi‑tenant (residence and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems.
- Manage large build projects involving broadband services, and ensure timely planning and implementation.
- Produce technical documentation to determine build feasibility for candidate properties for broadband services.
- Provide general ad‑hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams.
- General knowledge and experience with the design and installation of in‑building network architectures.
- General work‑area hazard identification and prevention.
- Knowledge and experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals).
- Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility‑based applications.
- Frontline experience working with customers/clients.
- Must have a four‑year college degree or equivalent field experience.
- Experience with working with and around coax/Ethernet cabling (hands‑on experience preferable). The candidate will be responsible for conducting site surveys where they will be locating and examining coax junction points in multiple dwelling/multiple tenant buildings. The candidate may need some tools to open locked enclosures (when applicable). The candidate will need to provide recommendations for installing the service in the buildings surveyed.
- Experience with working on ladders/rooftops. Site surveys may require accessing flat rooftops through a ladder/hatch.
- Experience with working with property owners. Site surveys will need to be scheduled by the candidate.
- Experience with generating simple designs. Site surveys will require the creation of a simple design to show the layout of the building. Pictures may be required.
- General knowledge of building structure. This will be needed to make good recommendations for how the equipment can be installed.
