Run8 Patent Group is seeking a patent agent to assist in patent prosecution and patent strategy matters for our technology clients. This role is focused primarily on drafting and prosecuting patent applications within a high-quality, results-driven practice.

• Master a data- and results-driven approach to patent prosecution with guidance from patent agents achieving:

• ~0.7 rejections before allowance
• Work across a wide range of technical areas, including AI, computer vision, security, manufacturing systems, IoT, medical devices, and robotics
• Learn practical models for constructing and executing patent strategies
• Develop professional relationships with thoughtful engineers, founders, and technical leaders

• No billable hours
• No fixed location
• No fixed office hours
• No autocratic management structure

Agents at Run8 are trusted to manage their time, take ownership of their work, and contribute where they are strongest. While this role is prosecution-focused, agents may gradually expand scope based on interest and demonstrated capability.

• Base compensation: $100k per year
• Quarterly revenue-sharing bonuses tied to completed work

Strong agents typically reach $200k–$250k+ in total compensation by their third year through consistent, high-quality output and increased responsibility. Compensation scales with contribution; there are no artificial ceilings.

• Prior experience in patent law sufficient to assess patent prosecution as a serious long-term profession
• Technical experience working with or adjacent to technology companies
• Self-directed, reliable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
• Registered Patent Agent before the USPTO
• Attorneys need not apply

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a hard science
• Strong preference for backgrounds in computer engineering, computer design, AI, or CS
• Clear written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliver consistent, high-quality work
• Writing samples are appreciated
