WSP is currently initiating a search for an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Civil Engineer. The position is open to the following offices:
San Jose-CA, San Francisco-CA, Los Angeles-CA, and Roseville-CA
. As a local technical assistance provider, you will help design, develop, and construct infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector.

• Under general supervision, assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, etc.
• Assist with performing basic professional civil engineering work such as research, inspections, and determination of conformance with applicable rules.
• Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry‑level technical assistance on design requirements.
• Assist with verifying site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance on engineering issues.
• Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field notebooks.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site‑specific procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 year of relevant post‑education experience.
• Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with the design and built environment processes.
• Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self‑leadership with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and related tools.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required.

• Engineer in Training Certification or ongoing pursuit.
• Familiarity with discipline‑specific design software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.).
• Internship experience related to the engineering discipline.
• Active participation in local professional or student practice organizations.

Expected Salary: $58,200 – $96,030.
