AssistantEstimator (Commercial HVAC) – Your
Job Duties
- Review plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare mechanical/commercial takeoffs
- Perform quantity surveys, breakouts, and data entry using Bluebeam and estimating software
- Attend job walks with the Senior Estimator and assist with field notes, scope verification, and documentation (local only, no overnight travel)
- Prepare scope sheets, organize vendor and subcontractor quotes, and clarify bid requirements
- Update bid logs, track deadlines, and support preparation of final bid packages
- Collaborate with internal teams to confirm project details, timelines, and scope requirements
- Assist with cost research, labor and material pricing, and historical project data management
- Support the Senior Estimator in all phases of estimating, from early RFIs to bid day execution
- Prior experience in estimating or HVAC installation (commercial)
- Journeyman‑level experience tradesperson with prior hands‑on HVAC installation experience and experience performing mechanical estimation using automated software
- Prior experience using automated estimating software (Trimble/Autobid or similar)
- Prior experience using Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel for takeoffs and calculations
- Experience estimating California public works or prevailing wage mechanical projects
- Exposure to large‑scale commercial systems, ductwork, piping, or mechanical installation
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant field experience
Your compensation for this Junior Estimator role will be $95,000 to $110,000 annually
, dependent on your knowledge and estimating experience. You will work on site in the San Francisco office
, with a dedicated parking space at no cost to you.
