Position: Staff Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical investigation programs, including planning, permitting, implementation, field data collection, oversight, data reporting, and the preparation of interpretive reports.

• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design calculations for tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary excavation support systems, and soil/rock slopes.

• Conduct geologic and seismic hazard evaluations.

• Work under the direction of senior engineers who provide technical oversight.

• Write technical reports and other documents explaining the basis for analyses, designs, or recommendations.

• Assist in preparing construction drawings and specifications for underground infrastructure.

• Collaborate as an integral member of a multi‑discipline team on complex projects.

• Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills to effectively interact with internal staff and clients.

Qualifications

• BS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

• Relevant coursework or experience in geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, tunneling, and subsurface investigation methods.

• Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software for slope and excavation stability analysis, seepage analysis, and seismic site response (e.g., SLIDE, UNWEDGE, DEEPSOIL) is a plus.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and priorities.

• Strong analytical and technical communication skills.

• Willing work in the field and travel for short‑term assignments.
