PCBA Manufacturing Engineer
As a PCBA Manufacturing Engineer, you will work across design engineering, supply-chain, quality, and our manufacturing partners to drive PCBA manufacturing with on time delivery.
Responsibilities- Define manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews to ensure all stakeholder deliverables are complete.
- Work with the Design Engineering team to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges early in product development by enforcing DFM, DFA and DFS principles.
- Drive closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds.
- Investigate failures in production, test, and integration. Identify and mitigate underlying root causes to prevent reoccurrence and foster continuous improvement.
- Deliver manufacturing processes capabilities including equipment capability, quality controls, materials characterization, and workmanship standards.
- Actively monitor the success of products and processes through the production ramp.
- Provide direction to contract manufacturing, suppliers, and engineers to manage quarantine and rework activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in PCB/PCBA fabrication facility
- 3+ years supplier quality, manufacturing, or design experience
- Experience in board assembly process and equipment (e.g., stencil print, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI, ICT, x-ray inspection)
- Experience leading DFX reviews to deliver design to manufacturability, testability, quality, and reliability standards
- Must be onsite 5 days a week
- Certified or significantly familiar with IPC-610
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 7+ years of experience in PCBA/PCB supply chain, manufacturing or engineering
- 5+ years’ experience with industry standard PLM and DFX systems, Mentor/Valor preferred
- Experience performing Design and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses
- Experience with IPC standards for PCB, PCBA, and RFPC fabrication, assembly, and test
- Experience in polymeric applications, including conformal coating, staking and underfill
All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits. Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package and may include equity (incentive stock options), healthcare, disability and life insurance, flexible PTO, 401(k), and free on-site meals. Salary range: $120,000 - $175,000 USD.
