PositionSummary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license to join our forensic team. The role requires vehicle accident reconstruction expertise, ACTAR certification and HVAC knowledge is preferred. The engineer will analyze mechanical systems, reconstruct accident scenarios and provide defensible conclusions that impact legal and insurance cases.
Responsibilities- Conduct investigations of vehicles, equipment and accident sites to document evidence and determine scope of damage.
- Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Research, evaluate, analyze and test the causation of accidents and failures.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of the accident.
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
- Collaborate with EFI Global's national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality program(s).
- Travel as required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- ACTAR certification preferred.
Six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary range for this role is $140,000-$155,000. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account and other voluntary benefits.
