The Company

Datawizz helps companies reduce LLM costs by 85% while improving accuracy by over 20% by combining large and small models and automatically routing requests. We started in 2025 with the mission of making AI efficient, affordable and more accurate than ever before.

Datawizz sits between the application and the LLM, automatically logging requests, evaluating them on different models, and training custom SLMs for repeated tasks. Datawizz then automatically routes every request to the best model - significantly reducing costs and improving accuracy.

The Role

As Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for building and leading our engineering team. You’ll work closely with the founder to define the roadmap, oversee architecture and execution, and ensure our technology scales as we grow.

You will:

• Lead the engineering organization - setting technical direction, priorities, and standards

• Build and mentor a world-class engineering team from the ground up

• Oversee development of our ML routing engine, SLM training pipelines, model evaluation frameworks, and customer-facing platform

• Establish engineering processes, best practices, and a high-performance culture

• Ship code! Help design and build core systems alongside the team

• This role is in-office, 5 days/week, based in San Francisco.
