Senior Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing Integration
Our mission is to create advanced robots that can operate in complex environments, reducing human risk in conflict zones and enhancing efficiency in labor-intensive industries.
We are on the lookout for extraordinary engineers and scientists to join our team. Your previous experience in robotics isn't a prerequisite — it's your talent and determination that truly count.
We expect that many of our team members will bring diverse perspectives from various industries and fields. We are looking for individuals with a proven record of exceptional ability and a history of creating things that work.
Our Culture:
We like to be frank and honest about who we are, so that people can decide for themselves if this is a culture they resonate with. Please read more about our culture here (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
Who should join:
- You like working in person with a team in San Francisco.
- You deeply believe that this is the most important mission for humanity and needs to happen yesterday.
- You are highly technical - regardless of the role you are in. We are building technology; you need to understand technology well.
- You care about aesthetics and design inside out. If it's not the best product ever, it bothers you, and you need to “fix” it.
- You don't need someone to motivate you; you get things done.
- Collaborate with the design and compute teams to refine PCBAs, wiring harnesses, and electrical subsystems for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead DFM and DFA reviews for electrical and compute assemblies, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to production.
- Design, validate, and support electrical test systems, including automated end-of-line test setups and diagnostic fixtures.
- Drive root‑cause analysis and resolution of electrical integration issues in assembly and production environments.
- Support layout and design updates for custom compute boards, actuator control boards, and sensor interfaces as needed.
- Develop and maintain electrical process documentation — schematics, harness routing, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to validate full electromechanical integration, thermal performance, and EMI/ESD compliance.
- Lead or support scaling initiatives, including design transfer, process qualification, and vendor validation.
- Identify and implement automation and data‑driven improvements in test coverage, yield, and line throughput.
- 8+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a mix of design and manufacturing/test experience (preferably robotics, automotive, or aerospace).
- Strong understanding of PCB design, wiring harness integration, and embedded systems.
- Hands‑on experience with test automation, data acquisition systems, and diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
- Knowledge of manufacturing test methodologies, DFM/DFA principles, and electrical safety compliance.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain) to deliver integrated systems.
- Ability to debug complex electrical issues at both system and board levels.
- Familiarity with high‑speed interfaces, power electronics, and thermal management is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- We provide market‑standard benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k), etc.). Join us for the culture and the mission, not for the benefits.
- The annual compensation is expected to be between $150,000 – $1,000,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
