We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&C) Design Engineer to work with our world‑class team dedicated to protecting the most valuable asset in the world, water.

As part of our California team, you’ll work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ water challenges locally and worldwide. Your role includes designing and developing Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, network drawings, panel drawings, and instrument selection. You will coordinate with other engineering disciplines to create cohesive designs, develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces, perform facility startups and commissioning activities, review construction submittals, conduct site evaluations, recommend control system upgrades, and communicate with clients and management.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university or college
• Ability to obtain a PE within one year
• Minimum of 15 years of experience
• I&C Systems Integration design experience
• Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&) development
• I/O list development
• Instrumentation selection
• Control panel layout and wiring
• Detailed loop wiring diagrams
• PLC equipment list development
• Knowledge of DCS systems
• Understanding of IT/OT best practices (NIST‑800, ISA/IEC 62443 OT)
• Experience with industrial networks (Modbus, Ethernet
  
  IP, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, etc.)
• Ability to mentor, train, and delegate work to others domestically and abroad
• Ability to work outside normal work hours to coordinate with global team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• Water infrastructure Instrumentation & Controls Systems design experience
• Experience with PLCs and HMI programming software
• Experience developing scope, fee, and schedule for I&C and Control System projects
