Position: Gateway Middle School Spanish Teacher Job Pool - 2026-2027

Middle School Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach Exploratory Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, a course focused on helping students learn Spanish as a second language
• Teach Heritage Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, a course focused on developing literacy, speaking skills for students who are native Spanish speakers or students who attended bilingual elementary schools
• Plan curriculum, lessons and assessments for Exploratory Spanish and Heritage Spanish classes
• Collaborate with other staff to analyze student learning, differentiate instruction and build a positive school culture

Compensation Range:

• Commensurate with experience and FTE level, based on a full-time salary scale, for credentialed teachers, of $85,000 -$110,000

Qualifications:

• Commitment to Gateway's mission is essential, including a desire to work with a diverse student body
• Strong desire to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and students
• Desire to be part of building common instructional practices and the larger school culture and community
• Current California credential required - Multiple Subjects or Single Subject Spanish (or eligibility to receive one)
• Heritage Spanish speakers and BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
