Advanced Math Instructor

Nativity (nativityhs.org) is a classical Catholic high school in San Francisco that opened in 2024 with an exceptional faculty that offers students a unique, focused, and classical learning environment.

We seek an advanced-level math instructor for Nativity’s freshman, sophomore and junior classes for the  academic year. The aim of the math program is for students to develop confidence in problem solving, aptitude in mathematical reasoning, and appreciation for the beauty of mathematics. Mathematical studies will play a pivotal role in Nativity’s STEM focused curriculum. Ultimately, your mathematical skills, teaching technique and resolve will reflect Nativity’s mission and our classroom culture.

Applicants who prefer part‑time work will be considered.

Every person lucky enough to have a formal education can, in one instant, name the two or three teachers who most profoundly impacted their life. Our aim at Nativity is to fill our classrooms with those deeply passionate, mission‑driven people who view teaching as a calling and a life‑long vocation. Our founding teachers will shape Nativity from its inception, leaving an enduring legacy.

Preferred qualifications include prior teaching experience, a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field, and demonstrated mathematical agility/aptitude.

Compensation shall be competitive with other San Francisco high schools. For exceptional full‑time candidates with housing needs we can offer high quality housing in close proximity to the Nativity campus.

Nativity was formed in November of 2022 as a result of the community’s desire for a Classical Catholic high school in the city. It welcomed its first class of students in August 2024. Class sizes are 20 maximum per classroom and affordable tuition makes the school accessible to a wide range of income levels. Nativity’s board of directors comprises five optimistic and grateful people who embody a “working board” mentality in support of the school and its students.

Nativity is also fortunate to have an accomplished Advisory board.

Nativity is an independent Catholic school formally recognized and supported by the Archdiocese of San Francisco. It offers a student experience that is unique to the area. While classical in its foundations, Nativity also devotes larger‑than‑average class time to Mathematics, creating a holistic and academically rigorous environment.
