18 Reasons shares our culinary skills and creativity with low-income communities through Cooking Matters, a program offering free, six-week-long series of cooking and nutrition classes throughout the Bay Area. 18 Reasons is a non-profit cooking school that offers free cooking, budgeting, and nutrition classes across the Bay Area through our Cooking Matters program.
Volunteer opportunitiesVolunteers are part of a team that teach a full six-week series as either a volunteer chef, nutritionist, or class assistant. The roles include:
- Volunteer chef
- Volunteer nutritionist
- Class assistant
There is no professional experience required to volunteer, just an interest in healthy eating & cooking, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
