Hours: 4 hours per week, February–May 2026
Pay Range: $30–$40/hour (tutoring rate), $25/hour (admin rate)
About the Role
Aspire Education is excited to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco (BGCSF) to provide after-school homework support and tutoring at the Beacon at Carver After School Program. We are seeking an energetic, empathetic in-person tutor who has experience working with elementary school children.
The tutor will work with students one-on-one and in small groups, providing engaging, student-centered tutoring that builds motivation, confidence, and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide homework support across multiple subject areas, primarily reading and math
. - Teach and tutor groups of 5–10 elementary students in an engaging and interactive way.
- Monitor and track student progress throughout the program.
- Communicate regularly with Aspire and BGCSF clubhouse staff regarding attendance, engagement, and growth.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment that promotes confidence and curiosity.
- Record session notes in Aspire’s web-based system after each session.
- Based in San Francisco with the ability to commute to the Carver Clubhouse.
- Minimum 1 year of tutoring, teaching, or coaching experience with elementary students (literacy experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a degree program in a related field.
- Strong interest in equity and social justice
, particularly in education. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to a dynamic after-school setting.
