The CCSF Automotive Department is looking for enthusiastic, organized, and versatile Automotive Technology instructors to join the team. The instructor(s) will teach various in person Automotive Technology classes within the department that may include the Introduction to Automotive Technology, Electrical, Suspension and Steering and other Automotive Repair related subject matters. Additionally the instructor(s) may be asked to help with various department duties.

Job Duties
  • Teach Automotive courses including Electrical, Brakes & Suspension, Transmissions, Engines, and other related subjects.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the instructional program and relevant educational services in support of student preparation and success.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or Saturday classes on and off campus as required.
  • Assist with outreach and recruitment of students into program.
  • Work with and maintain effective relations with advisory committees and employers.
  • Prepare reports and compile program data as necessary and/or requested by the supervisor/Department Chair.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate records for the program and students.
  • Perform duties associated with instructing students and assessing their progress in relation to identified student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in college and departmental functions, such as assessment of student learning outcomes, professional development activities staff meetings, others.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
  • Any bachelor's degree, or higher degree, from an accredited institution AND two years of professional experience that is directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • OR
  • Any associate degree from an accredited institution AND six years of professional experience that is directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • OR
  • Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Industrial Trade (Automotive Mechanics). California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990.
  • OR
  • The equivalent.
