Overview

CMC is looking for a cello instructor for our Mission District Branch to teach private lessons. An opportunity to coach chamber music also exists for this studio. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and passion to teach people of all ages, varying from beginner to more advanced levels. This position is scheduled to start in our Winter Quarter 2026.

  • Fridays: 3pm–7pm
  • Sundays: 9am–1pm
Compensation

Compensation: $47/hour for private lessons. Additional opportunities are available for compensated performances and meetings, free practice room and studio rental as available.

Faculty Qualities

The faculty of Community Music Center share the belief that the joy and satisfaction of learning to make music should be available to everyone, regardless of age, talent or means. Community Music Center seeks instructors with experience teaching a variety of styles, including western classical, jazz, rock, blues, Latin, flamenco, middle eastern and Chinese music.
