Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.) is an award-winning nonprofit providing hope for children and youth in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley. Our mission is to nurture the healthy development of children by listening attentively to their needs and providing opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access to a range of positive programs. At R.O.C.K., we serve more than 900 children (TK-12) with a framework that develops strong social and emotional skills, instills strong academic behaviors and broadens horizons.
Our programs span the entire year and take place during the school day, after school, on weekends, and throughout the summer. We provide sports/fitness activities, academic support, learning enrichment, community service, outdoor adventures and leadership training.
Job Title:Cross Site Program Director
Salary Range:$85,000-$95,000
Job Description:
The Cross Site Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, supervision, and oversight of key student and family centered programs across the organization. This role ensures high-quality implementation of our outdoor education programs, family engagement efforts, High School Program, and our 8th grade transition program. The Cross Site Director will work under the supervision of the Director of Programs and collaborate R.O.C.K.’s school site-based directors & coordinators, school leadership, and community partners to align programming with organizational goals and student needs.
R.O.C.K. works across three schools (2 elementary and 1 middle school), and the Cross Site Program Director role focuses on the programming that happens across these three school sites. Each school site has its own R.O.C.K. Director & Coordinator running the in-school and after school programming, so this is programming that supplements and strengthens the school-based programming. We are seeking a dynamic leader to supervise and support the Coordinators that lead these cross-site programs, ensuring that they are meeting their program goals, successfully engaging with the community at each school site, and proactively coordinating with other R.O.C.K. program managers and staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Outdoor Education Program Coordinator in planning, developing, and executing all outdoor education programs.
- Oversee in-school and extracurricular programming, including: TK Enrichment classes, Nature Scouts, Gardening Clubs, Weekend SALT programs, and experiential learning programs, including overnight camping trips.
Family Engagement Oversight
- Supervise the Family Engagement Coordinator and guide the implementation of the Family Partnership program.
- Collaborate with families, partners, and schools to build strong, supportive relationships that enhance student achievement.
- Ensure delivery of wellness practices, workshops, resources, and support services that meet family and community needs.
Other Program Development & Oversight
- Help design and take the lead in the implementation, development, and evaluation of the High School Program which is in its pilot stage.
- Develop a strategy to grow the high school program.
- Oversee the 8th Grade Transition Program to ensure a smooth and supportive transition for rising high school students.
- Potential to oversee future cross site programs.
Qualifications:
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing manager level employees.
- 5-7 years experience in program management, youth development, community schools, outdoor education, or related fields.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Passion for, and experience with, working with urban youth of color, many of whom are low income and have experienced trauma.
- Support data-driven program improvements to ensure effectiveness and positive student outcomes.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must provide proof of a negative TB test within the past four years.
