P/T Hourly Wage: $30-$50

Position

Summary

The Toddler Teacher plays an essential role in bringing “The Serra Way” to life in the classroom each day. This educator will collaborate closely with a co-teacher to create a safe, loving, and developmentally rich environment for toddlers. The ideal candidate is an experienced, warm, consistent, and attuned caregiver who understands toddler development deeply and approaches each child as a unique individual created by God.

This role requires a teacher who supports TSP’s Catholic identity, demonstrates strong relationship-building skills with families and colleagues, and embraces play-based, experiential learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mission-Aligned Instruction
    Implement developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum for toddlers. Model spiritual framework in age-appropriate ways.
  • Classroom Teaching and Child Development
    Create a nurturing, structured, and joyful classroom environment where toddlers feel secure, loved, and inspired to explore. Plan and facilitate play-based learning that supports exploration, emerging independence, and joyful learning. Observe, document, and support each child’s developmental progress across emotional, social, cognitive, and physical domains. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that meets licensing standards and reflects TSP’s mission and values.
  • Partnership with Families
    Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and caregivers. Communicate thoughtfully and consistently about each child’s experiences, developmental growth, and emerging needs.
  • Collaboration and Team Teaching
    Work closely with a co-teacher to ensure a cohesive classroom culture grounded in shared expectations and mission alignment.
  • Community Engagement
    Contribute to an inclusive and welcoming school community that reflects TSP’s spiritual and educational mission. Participate in occasional school events and community gatherings as appropriate for faculty.

  • Promote Developmentally Rich Learning: Toddlers show joyful engagement, social-emotional growth, and readiness for the next educational stage.

    Demonstrates knowledge of early childhood development and the specific learning needs of toddlers within a play-based framework.

Qualifications
  • A 4-year degree (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (welcomed but not required) OR at least 12 ECE/CD units and 6+ months experience in the field.
  • Experience with toddler-aged children highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and values and the mission of TSP.
