Head Coach – Junior Varsity Tennis
French American International School (San Francisco, CA)
Feb 9 – May 13, 2026
The International School of San Francisco is seeking positive, passionate, and knowledgeable coaches to lead our Junior Varsity Tennis team. The Athletic Department operates within a K‑12 independent school setting and is committed to developing compassionate, confident, and principled individuals who will positively impact the world.
Job Duties and ExpectationsThe successful candidate will follow the procedures of the high school’s athletic program, as well as those of the International and California Interscholastic Federation.
Communication: Coaches provide clear communication of expectations and philosophy. In case of conflicts, coaches are available to help seek resolution, but not immediately before or after a contest.
Player Development: Coaches assist the total development of all student‑athletes, using positive methods to create an ideal learning environment and implement a meaningful practice structure that enhances instruction and effective use of time for all team members.
Player Evaluation: Coaches use a holistic approach evaluating student‑athletes for skill, character, integrity, leadership, coach ability, and love for the sport. Selection is based on the school’s mission, not solely on ability or status. A student‑driven review is conducted mid‑season and post‑season.
Team Leadership: Coaches foster an environment that develops positive leadership qualities both on and off the field. Team captains and Supervisory Advisory Committee members are selected based on character and leadership rather than athletic performance.

- Experience working, playing, or coaching in a value‑based athletic program
- Reliable, prompt, and dependable
- Must have reliable transportation
