Overview of the Learning and Development Specialist Role

Reporting to the Senior Learning and Development Manager, the Specialist leads the development and growth of L.E.K.’s curriculum. The role owns curriculum design, collaborates with stakeholders to draft new session content, and trains consulting staff instructors to apply best teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Planning and Oversight: Own the end‑to‑end learning@LEK curriculum across levels and roles, maintain a prioritized roadmap, translate role expectations, and establish instructional design standards.
  • Content Development Leadership: Lead design of core program and session experiences, direct and quality‑check content development work, ensure version control, and coordinate integration of updated content into the training calendar.
  • Instructor Program Ownership: Own and execute the train‑the‑trainer program, influence and coach instructors, develop and deploy instructor tools and supports, and manage a panel of committed instructors in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Learning Content Systems and Publishing: Maintain and improve learning@LEK content repositories and publishing processes, evaluate new vendors/tools, and partner with stakeholders to ensure assets are accessible and aligned with branding standards.
  • Training Delivery and Operations: Attend and observe training delivery, coach instructors and support learners, maintain L&D systems and tools, provide on‑the‑ground support for training events, and monitor engagement in virtual and vendor‑led training.
  • Measurement and Continuous Improvement: Partner with the Senior Learning and Development Manager to ensure programs produce results, define and monitor metrics, synthesize insights, and drive prioritized content improvements.
  • HR and Firm Citizenship: Support broader HR goals, maintain strict confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and collaboration across all levels and geographies.
Qualifications /

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2‑3 years of instructional design and teaching/training experience, ideally in a professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and a demonstrated ability to apply them.
  • Experience leading and providing feedback to instructional content developers, including collaboration with global teammates.
  • Experience developing on‑demand learning materials (e.g., LMS content, scripts, video, job aids, reference guides).
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; comfortable influencing without authority.
  • High proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Articulate or similar content authoring systems highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 25% annually to support milestone/off‑site programs and instructor readiness.
