School Mental Health Counselor

Requirements- Graduate Degree (M.A., Ed.S., M.S. Ed., Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.
D.) in psychology, social work, counseling, or similar field of study. - Valid California LCSW or LMFT license (or state equivalent)
- Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care
- Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location. Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suits your experience and skillset.
Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 35 to 40 hours per week. Contract follows the academic district calendar.
Essential Functions- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Conduct mental health assessments and create treatment plans
- Support crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to address student needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
- Participate in school-wide wellness initiatives and meetings
$2,250 to $2,450 per week
