The UCSF Liver Transplant Service (LTU) is a collaborative program between the Division of Gastroenterology and the Department of Surgery, dedicated to providing world-class care for liver transplant candidates and recipients. UCSF performs 180-200 adult liver transplants annually, with outstanding waitlist and post-transplant outcomes.
We are seeking a mission-driven physician to serve as Nighttime Liver Hospitalist, caring for clinically complex patients across med-surg, step-down, and ICU settings. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-volume transplant program and contribute to UCSFs tradition of excellence in hepatology and transplant medicine.

- MD or DO degree.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Surgery.
- Eligibility for California medical licensure by the time of hire.

- Faculty appointment in the UCSF School of Medicine (rank commensurate with experience).

- Schedule: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Scope:
Admit and manage patients on the LTU service, including those in med-surg, step-down, and ICU.
- Focus:
Direct patient care (no supervision or education of trainees required).
- Census:
Average LTU census ~20 patients, with ~4 in ICU.
