Overview
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking full-time Radiologists to join the expanded Emergency Radiology division serving Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) and UCSF Parnassus affiliates. This growing section provides consultation and diagnostic services for ZSFG, San Francisco’s only Level I trauma center, Parnassus Emergency room, and UCSF acute care clinics.
The selected candidates will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X, in-Residence, or HS Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests.
Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research with strong interpersonal skills. Faculty in the ER section will be part of an expanded Emergency Radiology division nical work will include a combination of remote shifts for weekday and weekend evening ER coverage and in-house weekday shifts, as well as options for internal moonlighting opportunities. Physician schedules will be tailored to optimize job satisfaction and sustain radiologist and division success.
Responsibilities- Provide consultation and diagnostic services as part of the Emergency Radiology division for ZSFG and UCSF affiliated sites.
- Engage in a mix of remote weekday/weekend evening ER coverage and in-house weekday shifts; participate in internal moonlighting opportunities as available.
- Contribute to clinical care, teaching, and research; support division goals and patient care excellence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in program growth and service expansion.
- MD degree (or equivalent) with the ability (or eligibility) to practice medicine in California.
- Fellowship training preferred in Emergency Radiology, Neuroradiology, or Abdominal imaging, though not mandatory.
- Board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Radiology (A ).
- Current and/or pending qualifications listed on applicant materials at submission; eligible for appointment at UCSF.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay by rank and step at appointment; see Table 5.
The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700-$393,200 and is used in retirement benefit calculations. The actual minimum annual compensation for full-time UCSF Emergency Radiologists, exclusive of additional clinical bonuses, ranges from $450,000 to $550,000. The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
