Sorcerer is deploying a global network of persistent airborne sensors to fuel weather forecasting. Our high-altitude balloons collect 1000x more data than existing systems and are already used daily by meteorologists to track extreme weather across the US and Central America.

We are a well‑funded early‑stage Y Combinator backed startup based in San Francisco, CA. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, where you have an outsized impact across the company every day.

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Sorcerer you’ll be responsible for developing manufacturing tooling and processes for both our vehicle and avionics hardware. We are rapidly scaling our sensing network to hundreds of active flight systems making this an incredibly important role with runway for huge and immediate impact.

• Develop avionics manufacturing and test fixtures
• Work within engineering team to refine designs for manufacturability
• Develop assembly procedures and test plans
• Assemble and test production flight hardware when needed

• Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems
• Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Open HFT, Pytest)
• Highly proficient in soldering and assembly

• Have experience managing supply chains and PCBA contract manufacturing
• Have experience working with plastic films
• Have experience working in startups and small independent teams
• Succeed with a high level of autonomy
