We seek a Job Captain to work closely with the internal and extended project teams, on all aspects of design, design development construction documents, construction, and to assist in project administration.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Overview:
The job captain is responsible for the production of design, permitting and construction document packages; and coordinating details and documents with the project team, with direction from the project architect.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Work in a team environment and collaborate with others, participating in all phases of the design process.
Report progress and issues to the project leads as needed.
Assist with construction administration, including answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and solving construction-related issues in the office and in the field.
Ensure that the team stays on schedule, and executes schematics that conform to the requirements of the project leader.
Develop presentation materials to support the project team’s design and marketing efforts.
Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of projects.
May manage a junior staff member.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!
We are seeking a Job Captain with five to seven years of professional, post-graduate experience, on the licensure track. License is a plus.
Strong design skills, and the ability to lead production teams from design, through complete construction documents.
Excellent CAD/BIM production skills are required. Strong graphic skills and competency in the following software programs are encouraged:
Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Archi
CAD experience is a strong preference. Revit experience is a plus.
Multi-family housing experience is a plus.
Supervisory/mentoring skills are a plus.
Strong verbal and communication skills. The position requires constant communication with the project team, our clients, design consultants and contractors.
Ambitious, well organized, comfortable with deadlines and self-motivated.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related subject.
California Architectural license preferred, or on licensure track.
