Job DescriptionAbout Ashoka’s Sport for Change making Initiative:
The Ashoka Sport for Change making Team leverages more than 20 years of experience using sport as a platform to create societal change. Our work connects with social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts to explore opportunities and obstacles to foster a sports ecosystem where every person is a powerful contributor for the good of all.
Project: Sport for Change making Communications Campaign Development and Delivery
ResponsibilitiesAshoka’s Sport for Change making team is looking for a self-driven, collaborative, highly professional volunteer to deepen our communications and storytelling capabilities. As a volunteer, you will contribute to the development of external-facing communications campaigns and deliverables by tapping into existing research within our team and the broader Ashoka ecosystem.
Responsibilities include:
- Based on research and understanding of creating positive impact, develop a communications campaign and materials that convey Ashoka’s position and engagement in the sport for social change field
- Use written and visual communications materials to advance the Ashoka Sport for Change making movement in the broader sport ecosystem
- Write and design social media content, website copy and a monthly newsletter
- Translate research findings and interviews into exciting and thought-provoking communications materials
- Co-develop thought-leadership and other content pieces with the Ashoka Sport for Change making team and outline a dissemination strategy
- Work closely with Ashoka teams to ensure knowledge and learnings are presented in a way that can attract new partnerships and collaborations on areas of strategic need
Estimated hours required per week: 5 to 8 hours per week
The estimated duration of the project is: 6-12 months

Desired Skills And ExperienceAshoka volunteers are typically individuals willing and able to work in several different capacities. This volunteer will be responsible for producing a number of documents and potentially interacting with social innovators from all over the world. Volunteers should therefore show:
- Excellent written communication skills. Professional experience a plus.
- Conceptual thinker/big ideas thinker
- Ability to work independently; meet deadlines and targets in a collaborative, creative working environment
- Experience and interest in sport for social change field
- Comfortable with social impact trends and innovations
- Experience synthesizing/summarizing insights
- Ability to conduct desk-based research
- Writing experience with short form articles or blogs
- Comfortable using Linked In as a media platform
- Proficiency in and access to design platforms (Canva, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) a plus
- Proficiency in English. Ability to communicate in other languages (Spanish, French and/or Portuguese) a plus
- Great attention to detail
