About WanderlogWanderlog helps make leisure travel easier. We believe that travel makes the world better, and are building tools that lower the bar to it. Our core product, built starting 2019, is a travel planning app (we’re the top-ranked trip planner on iOS and Android), but we’re also helping travelers book hotels (without hidden fees), providing them with information (through various pages on e.g., best attractions, restaurants, etc.),
and more.
Our founders are twin brothers. Peter worked as an engineer at Stripe and a consultant at McKinsey, and Harry as a product manager ’re an engineering and product-driven team: the founders studied computer science at Yale, and have built successful, bootstrapped travel companies (Book With Matrix and All the Flight Deals) with products people love before starting Wanderlog.
We now serve millions of travelers a month, and are a team of 6, including 5 engineers hailing from Yale, University of Toronto, UCLA, and more; and 1 designer. We’re a self-sustaining, default-alive startup.
We also love traveling. Whether it’s a short hop to Austin, Seattle, or New Orleans; or a longer jaunt to Australia, Hawaii, or Banff National Park (all places the team’s traveled to in the past year!), travel broadens our horizons, builds empathy, and challenges us to grow. We’re working to bring these experiences to more of the world.
The roleWe’re looking for a talented Marketing Designer to help grow Wanderlog’s reach by creating visually compelling assets for our marketing channels — starting with social media ads, but extending potentially to other channels. You’ll work closely with our founders and growth team to develop design concepts that attract, engage, and inspire travelers to use Wanderlog.
This position is a full-time role reporting to the cofounders at Wanderlog.
What you’ll doAs a marketing designer, you’ll own the look and feel of Wanderlog’s growth and brand materials. You’ll be expected to:
- Develop high-quality static and motion graphics optimized for paid social, app store, and other digital channels
- Collaborate with the marketing, design, and product teams to ensure visuals align with brand identity and campaign goals
- Concept, design, and test new ad creatives, landing pages, and social content to drive acquisition and engagement
- Iterate based on performance data and A/B testing results
- Maintain and evolve Wanderlog’s visual language across marketing touchpoints
- Stay up-to-date with digital design trends, marketing creative strategies, and travel industry aesthetics
- Manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Have 2+ years of experience in marketing or brand design (experience with mobile apps is a plus)
- Have recorded videos of your own or your environment using your phone and uploaded them to Youtube, Tik Tok, Instagram, etc.
- Are fast: can take an idea from concept to video/image assets quickly and iterate
- Are skilled in editing videos, graphics, and animations with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) or equivalent tools (e.g., Cap Cut, Pikimov, Photopea)
- Are entrepreneurial and eager to contribute to a small, fast-moving team
- Love travel and believe in it as a positive force personally and for the world
- Are familiar with AI tools for video, audio/voice, and image generation and editing
- Have run ads or know the basics of how ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok work
We’re a fast-paced, highly communicative team. We collaborate by pairing and brainstorming together, and also aim to be structured rather than chaotic in our processes. We make extensive use of Loom, Slack, and AI tools to make our work easier and faster.
